Description

This Slow Cooker Garlic Parmesan Chicken recipe is a creamy, flavorful dish perfect for a comforting meal. Tender chicken breasts are slow-cooked with a savory blend of cream cheese, Parmesan, and garlic Parmesan sauce, then mixed with perfectly cooked pasta for a hearty, cheesy dinner that’s easy to prepare and sure to please the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Sauce
  • ½ cup whole milk or 2% milk

Pasta

  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Additional Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken and Sauce: Place the chicken breasts into the slow cooker. Season them generously with salt and black pepper. Then, layer the softened cream cheese cubes, grated Parmesan cheese, and Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Sauce evenly over the chicken. Pour the milk over all the ingredients to help create a creamy sauce as it cooks.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, or alternatively on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and tender enough to shred easily.
  3. Cook the Pasta: While the chicken is cooking, prepare the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Be sure to reserve half a cup of the pasta cooking water before draining, as it can be used to adjust the consistency of the sauce if needed.
  4. Shred Chicken: Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the slow cooker and shred them using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix well with the creamy sauce to combine all the flavors.
  5. Combine Pasta and Serve: Add the drained pasta into the slow cooker and gently stir to coat the pasta with the sauce and chicken mixture. Spoon the prepared garlic Parmesan chicken pasta into bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired for an added touch of flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Use any short pasta you prefer, such as penne, rotini, or shells, for the best texture and sauce adherence.
  • For a richer sauce, use whole milk, but 2% milk works well as a lighter option.
  • To make the sauce thinner if it gets too thick, stir in some reserved pasta water a little at a time.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Sauce can be substituted with any good quality garlic Parmesan sauce for a similar flavor.
  • This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings; just adjust slow cooker size and cooking time accordingly.
